Large Curing Oven

Curing furnace is the key process equipment for the molding of polymer matrix composite components. The curing furnace molding process is to seal the composite blank, honeycomb sandwich structure, or bonded structure on the mold with a vacuum bag, placed in the curing furnace, in the vacuum (or non-vacuum) state, through the temperature, heat preservation (medium temperature or high temperature), cooling process, so that it becomes the required shape and quality state of the product molding process.

Technical characteristics

Complete composite curing system

Thermal curing is a key step in manufacturing high quality composite materials. Traditionally, most composite parts require autoclaves for proper curing. Today, low-cost curing of composite parts of aerospace grade without autoclaves is possible by using vacuum packaging systems and walk-in batch curing furnaces. The process is precisely controlled and monitored to ensure that there are no gaps in the composite parts. The unit offers a complete composite curing system, including a custom configured oven, an integrated multi-port vacuum system, and a good control system with our TPC software. The system meets the requirements of AMS 2750, BAC 5621, NADCAP and AS 9100.

Composite curing furnace

The composite curing oven is a specially designed oven that provides very good temperature uniformity for the complete curing of the composite parts. It uses a combined cycle of horizontal air flow to ensure uniform temperature uniformity throughout the oven. The large capacity fan circulates air through the shutters, aluminized steel walls and creates a constant horizontal airflow through all parts of the oven.

• Flexible and customizable composite curing requirements;

• Standard temperature uniformity at +/-3°C or better;

• Electric or gas heating;

• Customized airflow to optimize heat transfer to special molds;

Two large temperature ratings are available: 260°C and 340°C(500°F and 650°F);

• Standard sizes range from 52 to 960 cubic feet (1,472 to 27,184 L).

Integrated multi-port vacuum system and jack plate

• Jack plate thermocouple arrays for adequate product monitoring;

• A vacuum port can be added to connect the vacuum bag in the curing furnace;

• Vacuum monitoring for data recording throughout the curing cycle;

• Vacuum pumps and all components required for the entire system, including vacuum adjustment;

• Strict vacuum stability deviation, <1 "Hg per hour at 25" Hg.

TPC software system for curing composites

Strict process control and monitoring is a key element of consistent component quality. TPC software fully controls the curing process and records all process information, providing traceability and verification of component quality.

• PC-based systems and Ethernet communication;

• All relevant process data is saved on the system PC and accessible from the plant computer system;

• Standard customizable reporting capabilities to verify the curing process;

• The vacuum system can be monitored and controlled from the display.
